SSE have approved a new 400KV, 210 foot high pylon line, heading east from the Beauly substation, along the A862, to Inverness and beyond.
This monster line will defile our beautiful countryside for a generation. We must fight it united, resolute that alternatives must be found.
This is shown on p103 of the NOA document by National Grid where its status has changed to “Proceed”. https://www.nationalgrideso.com/document/185881/download.
Bless Kuri, Head of Transmission System Planning and Investment says Beauly to Blackhillock 400kV Double Circuit Addition (BBNC) construction will be complete by 2030.
Everyone in the Beauly catchment will be affected.
2 giant new lines will be built, a 275kv and a 400kv
NB, they still haven't fixed the noise problem 7 years after building the Beauly to Denny line.
